Known as the three of life to the Berbers because of the different health benefits that it brings to the material. It grows exclusively in the southwest of Morocco. The three can reach a height of 8 to 10 meters where the root system extends to a considerable depth to protect against the Sahara deserts their weather conditions. The Argan Orchards are a UNESCO- protected reserve.

Argan Oil is being produced from the kernels of the Argan tree. The traditional production of the oil exclusively takes place in Maroc where they are being mechanically pressed to an oil. The nuts are being cracked by hand using old Berber techniques. Historically, the oil is a product that is being harvested and prepared by Berber women cooperatives in the rural areas in the region of Agadir, in the Southern part of Maroc. For local communities, Argan oil is still an important source of income.

Argan oil has different applications in the market. Firstly, it finds its usage in the cosmetic industry, where it is being used in skin care, hair care, and more diverse types of formulations its an extremely popular oil for companies for putting on their label of their cosmetic products. The oil also has high values of squalene, which aids in anti-aging of the skin. It also finds its usage in the culinary industry – then the oil is being roasted before the pressing, where the edible oil gets a roasted smell and taste. The oil has a balanced fatty acid composition which consists lots of unsaturated acids, vitamin E and omegas.
