Walnut

Walnut oil is produced of the nuts of the walnut tree, the oil is known for its valuable content of omega 3, essential for our body. Our walnut kernels are sourced on the European continent, mainly in Moldova and Romania. Here in the orchards, walnut trees grows up to 40 meters and give nuts in the September to October. Once the nuts are ripe they fall on the ground and can be collected by the farmer. Further processing will take in the production facility of our supplier, where the nuts are being cracked by machines and the kernels are sorted. The most common grades are whole, halves and quarters.

Once the processing of the walnut kernels is finished they will be transported to our oil mill in The Netherlands. We make various grades of walnut oil here. Our virgin oil is produced by pressing and filtering. With the roasted oil, the nuts are first heated before being pressed. This gives the oil an extra fine smell and taste. Despite this, all the rich source of nutrients and antioxidants are remain in the oil. Walnut oil can also be used for cosmetics purpose. It gives a soothing feeling and is nourishing for dry skin. Because of this, it is also a commonly used product in massage oil.
